  • Fortunate Son Cabernet Sauvignon The Dreamer 2019

Fortunate Son Cabernet Sauvignon The Dreamer 2019

Winemaker Notes A wine of elegance, The Dreamer is dark and brooding with fine and structured tannins. Sourced from small, family vineyards and aged for 24-30 months in the finest French oak barrique. The stave wood is hand-selected for ultra-tight grain, then air dried for three years before being made into barrels. 100% Cabernet Sauvignon Critical Acclaim Jeb Dunnuck Coming from two vineyards, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon The Dreamer sports a vivid purple hue to go with beautiful aromatics of darker currants, ripe cranberries, leafy tobacco, and spring flowers. I love its balance, it's medium to full-bodied, has gorgeous tannins, and a great finish. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate A blend of two undisclosed vineyards, Fortunate Son's 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon The Dreamer is darker, richer and warmer than the 2018 version, yet still balanced, delivering ripe black cherries, loamy earth and dried spices. It's medium to full-bodied, softly dusty and long on the finish.

Winemaker Notes Dark ruby in color, the flavors such as blackberry, boysenberry and Bing cherry dominate with nuances of milk chocolate, chocolate berry truffle dusted with cocoa powder, aromatic cedar and Herbs de Provence. The sweet oak spice is very well integrated, adding to the overall complexity. The body is very full, with a soft entry, coupled with dark cherry flavors that develop from start to finish. Blend: 75.8% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16.2% Merlot, 4.0% Malbec, 3% Petit Verdot, 1% Cabernet Franc Critical Acclaim JS94 James Suckling Aromas of blackcurrants, spearmint, licorice and lead pencil follow through to a medium body with firm tannins and a fresh finish. Hints of chocolate and almonds. Really polished. Very drinkable now, but will age beautifully. Fulldraw Vineyard Chopping Block Red 2019

Winemaker's Notes Coming off the exceptional vintage of 2018, we are excited to say that 2019 follows suit. While the wines from the two vintages are noticeably different, they do share striking similarities of incredible texture, complexity and density while still retaining vivid freshness. At Fulldraw, we meticulously pick, process, and ferment each varietal separately. By doing so, this allows us to blend and impeccably balanced wine among all three varietals each contributing something unique and special to the resulting blend. We are always surprised at how easily this blend comes together. This wine is a great representation of what the site contributes to all the varietals in one bottle - intense aromatics, bright lengthy finish, and finessed tannins. | Fulldraw

  • Ghost Block Single Vineyard Cabernest Sauvignon Yountville 2018

Ghost Block Single Vineyard Cabernest Sauvignon Yountville 2018

Winery Notes: “The Ghost Block vineyard, named in honor of the historic Pioneer Cemetery for which it borders, is nestled on a gently sloping knoll on the north edge of Yountville. This highly sought after vineyard is composed of 18 acres of unique, rarely found, exposed vertical bedding of tertiary volcanics. It is southeast facing, receiving mid-morning and afternoon sun and cooling in the evening and early morning with down valley marine influence. Planted solely to Cabernet Sauvignon it is 100% certified organic and the crown jewel of the family’s 635 planted acres. The 2018 vintage was ideal which allowed us to harvest when the time was right without pressure from imminent weather events. The result is an abundance of well-developed fruit character with smooth tannins, the proverbial iron fist in a velvet glove. The wine is seamless from start to finish with seductive aromas of black cherry, blackberry compote and plum sauce. The palate fills out with dark fruit continuing as the framework yet the harmonious layers of mocha and cassis along with hints of sage and tobacco leaf are what make the wine alluring and irresistible.”
