  • Tenuta San Guido Le Difese Toscana 2018

Tenuta San Guido Le Difese Toscana 2018

Winemaker Notes The 2018 Tenuta San Guido Le Difese Toscana is distinguished by a good structure and is extremely supple, making it very pleasant and easy to drink. Blend: 70 % Cabernet Sauvignon, 30 % Sangiovese Critical Acclaim James Suckling A medium-bodied red with plum and cherry character. Walnut and bark undertones. It’s creamy and savory at the finish. Drink now. Wine Enthusiast Aromas of star anise, dark-skinned berry, wild herb and toasted oak form the nose. A blend of 70% Cabernet and 30% Sangiovese, the wine’s bright, linear palate offers red currant, prune and a hint of licorice before a coffee-bean finish. Racy acidity and taut close-grained tannins provide the framework and tension.

  • Fontodi Meriggio Sauvignon Blanc 2021

    Fontodi Meriggio Sauvignon Blanc 2021

A delightfully fragrant and fresh Sauvignon Blanc. Lovely aromatics: grassy, stone fruits, candied lemons. Vibrant mouthfeel with crisp acidity balanced by tangerine, citrus fruits with wet stones and minerality on its texture. Surprising density and layers of flavor. Hard to put my glass down. Loire meets Marlborough in the heart of Chianti. Fontodi delivers again. --Jack Madrid

  • Fontodi Chianti Classico Tuscany Italy 375ML

Fontodi Chianti Classico Tuscany Italy 375ML

94 points Falstaff: "Bright ruby with a slight purple shimmer. Opens on the nose with ripe, vivid fruit of blueberries and dark cherries, some liquorice in the background. On the palate gripping, dense tannin, unfolds into countless layers, still seems very young, but has a lot of substance, hearty and long. (11/26/21)"93 points Bruce Sanderson (Wine Spectator): " This succulent red is hallmarked by very pure expressions of cherry, raspberry, violet and mineral. Firmly built, with energy and a persistence that extends the fruit, tobacco and mineral elements on the finish. Drink now through 2030. (May 2022)"

  • Fontodi Vin Santo del Chianti Classico Tuscany Italy 375ML 2021

Fontodi Vin Santo del Chianti Classico Tuscany Italy 375ML 2021

This is a Paso Robles estate Rose. It’s an interesting Grenache, Mourvèdre, Cinsaut, Counoise and Carignan blend. The color is a beautiful salmon. The nose is citrusy and floral. This wine’s acidity is lively on your palate with a predominance of grapefruit. The finish is clean and I think this would go well with something spicy such as Thai food. Perhaps a little overpriced.

  • Fontodi Flaccianello Della Pieve 2019

    Fontodi Flaccianello Della Pieve 2019

Blindfaith Pilot Wine#1 Lovely colour – not much age here was my initial impression Nose: Dark flowers, vibrant blackcurrant, blackberry. Floral, fruity, slightly dusty black fruit note. Not sure what I'm talking about there, but it shouted Tuscany at me. Tangy, bold – intense black fruit – lively acidity and firm but smooth tannin. Raw spice and herbs again suggesting youth. But punchy and delicious. Guess: Tuscan, BDX Blend, 2015 vintage? Reveal: Wasn’t too far off! My favourite of the pair. -John Mobbs

  • Federico Curtaz 'Gamma' Bianco Etna, Sicily 2019

Federico Curtaz 'Gamma' Bianco Etna, Sicily 2019

Pale straw yellow. The interesting freshness of a summer beach - lime, green apples, then the roundness of honeydew. Light body, medium acidity, astringent. Citrus in the palate to a medium finish with a tiny hint of minerality. It paired ok with tagliatelle with shrimps and asparagus, and lobster with butter and lemon, for Margaret’s birthday celebration with the Williams. Overall a good wine but it lacks the minerality of an Etna Bianco and it’s too expensive for what you get.
