  • Montecillo Singladuras Albarino 2022

    Montecillo Singladuras Albarino 2022

Winemaker Notes Lemon yellow with greenish highlights, clean and bright. A pure sensation of fruit on the nose, ripe peach wrapped in citrus notes and a finish of ripe pear. On the palate, its enthralling acidity and great extract make a powerful impact upon entry. It then bursts with an explosion of delicious fruit: peach, attractive citrus notes and a lovely silkiness. The characteristic saline note of great wines made with this variety, which makes them so good with food, makes a clear appearance on the finish. A very seductive wine. The clean flavors of Albariño are very versatile and partner well with typical local dishes such as Galician style octopus or scallops. It is ideal with white meats and vegetables or seafood, clams, oysters and oven-baked fish.

    Abreu Madron Ranch Red 2019

    Abreu Madron Ranch Red 2019

The 2019 Madrona Ranch is flat-out stunning. Bright and intensely delineated, the 2019 dazzles with its brilliance. Red-toned fruit, mint, blood orange, spice and rose petal lend vibrancy. Madrona Ranch, usually quite the bruiser, is incredibly refined and nuanced in 2019, but that also seems to be a recent trend here, especially compared with the wines of a decade ago. --Antonio Galloni

  • Chateau Montelena Estate Cabernet Sauvignon Library Release 2009

Chateau Montelena Estate Cabernet Sauvignon Library Release 2009

Chateau Montelena Estate Cabernet Sauvignon is unique and distinctive with an unrivaled heritage of producing an outstanding wine each and every vintage. This diversified soil profile results in aromatic, rich and full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon, characterized by the unique earthy-berry flavor that is the Montelena Estate. The wine displays rich, natural, varietal fruit character, first and foremost, with finely balanced acid and tannin. Delicious and enjoyable now, and very age-worthy.  Vinous 94 Points- Bright ruby-red. Penetrating aromas of black cherry, dried flowers and brown spices. Not as silky as the 2004 through 2007 vintages but boasts noteworthy refinement and savory intensity, with fresh, harmonious acidity giving the wine good focus and finesse. Excellent depth here if not quite the flavor development of vintages like ’07 and ’04. Still, this conveys a thickness of texture and a faintly exotic quality and finishes with very suave tannins. The summer was rather cool but steady, and there was enough warmth in September to ensure ripe tannins without burning off needed acidity, noted Bo Barrett. A fairly elegantly styled Montelena Estate.
