    Chateau Margaux 2008

    Chateau Margaux 2008

Chateau Margaux 2008 Score: 94 Points  This is a stunning Chateau Margaux, made in a sexy, up-front, elegant style, with deep creme de cassis fruit intermixed with spring flowers, a solid inner core of richness and depth, but again, very sweet tannins as well as striking minerality and elegance. One of the most seductive Chateau Margauxs given its recent bottling, this blend of 87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot, and the rest tiny quantities of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot should drink beautifully for the next 25-30 years. Remarkably, a mere 36% of the entire production was selected for the 2008 Chateau Margaux. https://bordeauxinvestmentwines.co.uk/pages/chateau_margaux_2008.html

Étienne Grivot and his wife Marielle took over from Étienne’s father Jean Grivot in 1987, and were joined by their daughter Mathilde in 2017. Organic farming, dense vine planting, and hard work in the vineyard give a ripe concentrated style. Grivot produces the classic expression of Vosne-Romanée, aromas and flavors of red berries, herbs, and purple flowers with a rich, ripe fruit palate. This is the iron fist in the floral velvet glove.

  • Charles Heidsieck Rose Millesime 2006 Charles Heidsieck Rose Millesime 2006

    Charles Heidsieck Rose Millesime 2006

Winemaker Notes A beautiful pale pink hue with amber glints reminiscent of the color of apricots, enhanced by discreet, pearly bubbles and incomparable finesse. Intensely perfumed, the complex nose immediately announces a powerful, structured, great rosé wine. The Pinots Noirs, vinified as still red (8% of the blend) give the wine a particular aroma: that which comes from a simmering pot of bubbling strawberry jam, candied fruit mingled with mild spices such as cinnamon, cardamom, honey and pink praline. A true journey through flavor, the palate revels in the creamy sensation of juicy plums. This wine is characterized by a silky texture reminiscent of fig pie, pine nuts, and sweet pastries. Spicier notes of liquorish and cumin that come into play. The finish is warm and round, marked by notes of blackberry tea, cherries, pink peppercorns and fresh figs.
