Saldo was created to feature the outstanding fruit sourced from Dry Creek, Lodi, and Amador, where Zinfandel has thrived for decades.
Dark ruby color with bold aromas of black licorice, black pepper, cherry, and baking spice. The entry is rich, full, and scintillating. The palate is mouthwatering and smooth with a hint of chocolate. The finish is voluptuous with soft, velvety tannins.
Blend: 85% Zinfandel; 15% Petite Sirah and Syrah

Rich and spicy nose; dense, earthy, and tangy. The Prisoner strikes again: yet another winner from this mysterious producer and its winemaker Chrissy Wittmann.

Zinfandel seems better fresh to catch the vibrancy that is the dominant American style. Several producers have told me the same, drink when released don’t hold. Aromas are boysenberry, Blueberry and cedar. Flavors are blueberry, currant, blackberry and applewood smoke. Tasted twice with same notes.
