Blend: 70 % Cabernet Sauvignon, 30 % Sangiovese Critical Acclaim James Suckling A medium-bodied red with plum and cherry character. Walnut and bark undertones. It’s creamy and savory at the finish. Drink now. Wine Enthusiast Aromas of star anise, dark-skinned berry, wild herb and toasted oak form the nose. A blend of 70% Cabernet and 30% Sangiovese, the wine’s bright, linear palate offers red currant, prune and a hint of licorice before a coffee-bean finish. Racy acidity and taut close-grained tannins provide the framework and tension.

Winemaker Notes Bright red with purple nuances. Respectable acidity and PH and a beautiful balance of musts that are well structured but harmonious and fruity. Blending wines with a non-invasive structure, a good balance in terms of acidity and density of the wine, combined with soft and well-integrated tannins. Beautiful spiciness. A pleasant palate of every day wine drinking, with juicy red fruits. A very good wine that is meant to be enjoyed young. Pair with grilled steak or steak salad, hamburgers and other casual but flavorful beef dishes. Has good acidity to compliment marinara and bolognese sauces. Critical Acclaim Vinous The 2021 Le Difese is redolent of crushed red berry fruit, rose petal, lavender, spice and sweet pipe tobacco. Medium in body yet nicely layered, the 2021 is impeccably balanced. It is also a sheer delight to taste at this early stage. In many vintages, Le Difese is a fruity, forward wine, but the 2021 has a nervy feeling of classicism that is hugely appealing. It's one of my favorite recent vintages. As it has been for some time, Le Difese is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon from the estate and Sangiovese purchased from several properties in Chianti Classico, with the energy of Sangiovese very much driving the feel in this vintage. Decanter Le Difese in 2021 sports a majority of Sangiovese – 55% – in a break from the traditional 70/30 split in favour of Cabernet Sauvignon. Third-generation at Tenuta San Guido, Priscilla Incisa della Rocchetta, explained that this decision was made to enhance the wine's 'local Tuscan' character, and to improve its drinkability early on as 'a first step into the Tenuta San Guido world.' While the Cabernet is grown on the estate, the Sangiovese is sourced, as always, from long–term partners based in Chianti Rufina. Bright, incredibly vibrant red, black and blue fruits introduce subtle, finely grained tannins with notes of wood and chocolate. It's at once juicy, tangy and crunchy, with good ripeness and great acidity. Matured for eight months in used barriques.

It is light straw in color with pleasant aromas of ripe melon and freshly picked MacIntosh apples. Crisp and light on the palate with lovely pineapple, Bartlett pear and apple flavors that harmoniously intermingle with orange zest and almond notes. The finish lingers with spicy tropical fruit. Pairs equally well with light seafood dinners and richer cream-based sauces.

 It is better than same winery’s chianti classico. Great balance and structure, good finish length, acidity, tannin, sweetness. strong vanilla and milk, cafe-mocha, white flower scents. Complexity was also great. red fruit, blackberry, oaky, coffee tastes.

This Brunello opens with inky, dark concentration and ripe aromas of prune, plum and blackberry. It's packed tight with savory spice such as ground clove and cardamom and it also offers a full load of ripe (but not jammy) black fruit. It feels thick and textured on the palate with evident tannins that will soften with 5–10 more years of bottle aging. There's a touch of cherry sweetness on the close. --Wine Enthusiast

What an angel! This entry-level wine from one of Montalcino’s most consistent producers is made from the estate’s younger vines, all of which are Brunello-designated. Enticing aromas of ripe red cherries and strawberries are framed in chalky, earthy notes. The palate brings in more succulent fruit and spice to the structured, full-body.
