Le Petit Mouton de Mouton Rothschild – 2014 Harvest 19 September to 9 October Varietal mix Cabernet Sauvignon 93%Merlot 7% Tasting notes The colour is a deep and dense purple. The highly complex, full and varied nose reveals ripe red fruit aromas mingled with succulent cocoa and vanilla, rounded off by slightly toasted, smoky notes combined with youthful oak. The attack is succulent, lush and substantial, at once dense and silky. Rounded, elegant tannins underpin a generous, full-bodied and well-balanced palate. The finish is straight as an arrow, deep and radiant.

The nose is expressive and complex, on ripe fruit aromas reminiscent of bigarreau cherry and blackberry. After an initial contact of remarkable gentleness and refinement, the palate fills out into a full and lush body on flavours of spice, vanilla and prunes in spirit, ending on a long and mineral finish.

93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate  The best Pauillac I ever tasted (and this wine has been a revelation ever since they first introduced it), the 2010 from Latour represents 24% of their production. It is a blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 44.5% Merlot and .5% Cabernet Franc. An amazingly opulent, round, delicious wine, and a great buy when they finally release it – assuming it comes in under a three-digit price – it possesses wonderfully silky tannins, classic black currant, cedar wood and forest floor notes, and rich, full-bodied opulence as well as a terrific purity and palate presence. Winemaker Notes A vibrant, 100% organic/biodynamic Sauvignon Blanc from a mix of flint and chalk soils in the heart of Sancerre. Aromas suggest grapefruit zest and gunflint; in the mouth the wine is pure and fresh, with plenty of mineral energy and citrus flavors. Indispensable with fresh oysters or young goat cheese. The Vacheron family is one of the older and certainly most respected producers of organic wines in the Loire Valley.

100% Merlot that was hand picked and fermented half in barrel half in tank. Then aged for over a year in 100% new oak. This is a big wine the blue and black berry spectrum. Quite rich on the palate and offering some delicate violets and chocolate underneath. It’ll look more open after 2020. I think this is a classic for boeuf bourguignon. Clos 56 is a tiny 0.56 hectare of 60 year old vines in a prime part of Pomerol. The vines are part of a bigger St-Emilion Estate that focus on small patches of quality land run as organically as possible.

Wine Critic Reviews: This wine has a lovely complexity with balance and lift and does that thing where it waits for a heartbeat, then makes you wait for a heartbeat, before releasing its stone fruit and succulent, slate-tinged citrus.The plots are on the west side of the appellation, often 1.5oC lower than at main Lynch Bages, with more limestone in the subsoils helping keep the balance that is evident here.Two thirds of the juice was fermented in barrels with one third in stainless steel – it’s juicy and pretty much ready to go (it bottles in two weeks). 50% new oak used. 3.08pH. James Suckling: 96 Points Extremely perfumed with rose aromas that turn to strawberries and citrus. Some stones, too. Full-bodied, yet reserved and ultra-refined. It goes on for minutes. Power with finesse. Try in 2022 but already a joy to taste.

Wine Advocate-Parker :A strong effort from proprietor Philippe Castéja, the 2012 Trottevieille has an inky, opaque purple color with plenty of blueberry and blackcurrant fruit, licorice, earth and subtle background oak. It is medium to full-bodied, with excellent texture, long persistence on the palate and impressive purity. All are impressive and evidence of a very top effort from this property that always seems to be capable of producing even greater wine than it actually does. No one is going to be disappointed in the 2012. It has an anticipated maturity of 2020-2035.
