Double 11 Shopping Day
Singles' Day (Chinese: 光棍节) or Double 11 (Chinese: 双11), is a Chinese unofficial holiday and shopping season. Some people say that in 1993, four single men students at Nanjing University created Singles Day. They chose November 11th, because the date consists of four ones which represents four singles. So, they created a day full of entertainment and celebrations. Since then Singles’ Day has become a day when people who are not in a relationship or are solo in front of a computer, can pamper themselves and indulge their whims by shopping for delicious foods, housewares and luxury health and beauty items. Enjoy your celebration!
Bring good luck, abundance and happiness to your home and business with Maneki-neko, the Lucky Cat good luck charm that is popular throughout SE Asia. Legends surround the origin of the Lucky Cat. In the 17th century, a poor monk lived in the small Zen temple in Tokyo. Although his life was very difficult, he shared his own meager meals with his pet cat which strayed into the temple. One day, Ii Naotaka, a lord samurai was on his way to hunt when suddenly a storm came, and he had to seek safety under a big tree near the temple. Sheltering there, he noticed the cat, raising one paw as if waving him to the temple. Curious, he left his cover and headed for the temple to have a better look at the strange cat. As he did so, a lightning bolt destroyed the tree where he had just been standing. Nakaota was so grateful, he became the patron of the temple.
