The "West Lake Dragon's Well Tea" production area is vast and deep, including not only the five core first-grade production areas represented by Lion, Dragon, Cloud, Tiger, and Plum within the West Lake Scenic Area. Longwu Tea Village is the main production area of West Lake Dragon's Well Tea, recognized as the West Lake Dragon's Well Tea Cultural System by the Ministry of Agriculture, a protection base for West Lake Dragon's Well Tea designated by the Hangzhou Municipal Government, and a raw material base for West Lake Dragon's Well Tea by China Tea Co., Ltd.
Pre-Qingming Longjing refers to Longjing tea picked and processed before Qingming. The season features sufficient sunlight and rainfall, ideal for tea tree growth. It uses the freshest tea buds, with subsequent harvests of lower quality, hence the higher price. The dry tea is green and transparent, with evenly shaped and glossy leaves, and a sweet fragrance; after brewing, the buds and leaves unfold fresh and green, tasting sweet and refreshing, with a soft and fresh aroma that exudes a natural feeling.
