Lovely bouquet of cherry, oak, red currant & vanilla on nose. The palate adds strawberries & mushrooms. On mouth & throughout smoked oak flavors elegantly massages while gentle notes of cedar & earthy hints add another dimension to the olfactory & taste incredible experience. Long, suave & firm finish with bits of spice at end.

Winemaker Notes:  This wine has a delicate character with notes of butter, citrus, lime blossom, cinnamon and flint. This 2018 vintage has a well-defined bouquet with mineral, crushed stone, jasmine and yellow plum notes. The palate is well balanced and concentrated with long finish.CRITICAL ACCLAIMBurghound - "A restrained, cool and airy nose features notes of green apple, lemon rind and Chablis-like oyster shell nuances. There is reasonable mid-palate density to the delicious and vibrant middle weight flavors that brim with minerality on the lingering finish. This is still of course very young but it's somewhat one-dimensional and while more depth should certainly develop, it's hard to say how much. (90-92pts)"

Grand and evocative with an attractive complexity. The glass uncovers a bright golden core with a lively rim. Aromas are led by sun-kissed Amalfi lemon peel with layers of honeysuckle and mandarin blossom wrapped in citron, a hint of hazelnut, and spice. The mouthfeel is generous and multidimensional, showing layers of beeswax and chalky limestone with an uplifting acidity and a long finish. A wonderful wine that while clearly young shows incredible promise. Rich, elegant and complex, with good intensity, balance and length. Peach, Meyer lemon, slate, cream, honeysuckle and a hint of chamomile.

Winemaker Notes Sourced from a small selection of our favourite Semillon blocks, the grapes were both hand and machine picked before gentle pressing and fermentation in stainless steel tanks. The wine then spent a few months on yeast lees to gain extra complexity and mouth feel.

Winemaker Notes Alejandro Vigil is a master of Chardonnay, as well as a man who likes to push boundaries, which is why this impressive white was made with a little flor, just like a Fino Sherry. Toasty, spicy and salty, this is briney and refreshing with some honeyed notes. Critical Acclai Cooked apple, lemon curd and light vanilla on the nose, together with stone, mineral and some dried flowers. Medium to full body with a creamy texture and beautiful fruit. A muscular, rich wine, this opens with heady, almost raisiny red-berry fruit, with licorice, earthy herbs and spices, touches of floral notes and vanillin oak. Tannins are chewy and drying, showing a good lick of oak along with the ripe fruit. About the Wine Like most estates in Pomerol Le Bon Pasteur works with tiny allotments of land to produce its elixir. Bon Pasteur sits among some of the best company all of Bordeaux has to offer. Within a couple of minutes walk from the front door of the Chateau, one could find themselves in the vineyards of Petrus, Lafleur, Gazin, and Vieux Chateau Certan. L'Etoile is the second label of the estate, but this wine receives the same attention as the Grand Vin and proves why Pomerol is such a desired terroir. The Pomerol appellation encompasses a multitude of micro-terroirs. What makes Château Le Bon Pasteur, with a total surface area of 6.7 hectares, so unusual is that it is located on the border between two world-famous regions: Pomerol and Saint-Emilion. As opposed to the great châteaux of the Médoc, the vineyard is not in a single block but spread out over 21 plots. This patchwork of terroirs accounts for the wine’s considerable complexity, deep color, and delicate bouquet, as well as a softness typical of Pomerol and a generous, powerful side reminiscent of Saint-Emilion. The fate of Le Bon Pasteur is then closely connected to Michel Rolland who represents the spirit of the château for 40 years. Michel Rolland was born in 1947 on the edge of the Pomerol appellation. Steeped in nature, he spent his childhood and teenage years on the family property, Le Bon Pasteur in Pomerol-Maillet. Perhaps this explains his love for the land in general and in particular for the vine. Tasting Notes: 80% Merlot 20% Cabernet Franc. Clear ruby, the wine shows intense and subtle aromas with spicy and dark fruity notes. On the palate, the silky character dominates with soft tannins. This wine is fresh, round, and delicious. Reviews Blackberries, dark cherries, blueberries and bramble berries on the nose with licorice undertones. Vanilla and toasted notes, too. It’s full-bodied, structured and concentrated.
