Legend has it that Lapsang Souchong was created during the Qing Dynasty when the passage of armies delayed the annual drying of tea leaves in the Wuyi Mountains. In order to speed up the drying process, workers dried the leaves over fires made from local pine tress and thus a new tea was born. The finished result is a unique smoky flavor and aroma. Creative culinary uses for marinades and rubs have highlighted this tea as well.

How to Brew

  1. Start with filtered water for the best brew.
  2. Use 1 teaspoon of tea for every 8 oz. of hot water. You can adjust amount to your preferences.
  3. The ideal water temperature is between 190-212°F.
  4. Brew for 3 to 5 minutes.
  5. Enjoy!

正山小种是世界上最早的红茶,亦称红茶鼻祖。茶叶是用松针或松柴熏制而成,有着非常浓烈的香味。因为熏制的原因,茶叶呈灰黑色,但茶汤为深琥珀色。
