【Tea Description】
This ripe Pu-erh tea was made from high-quality loose-leaf tea harvested in spring 2009 from the renowned YiWu tea region, then pressed into small bricks for storage. Made with young spring buds, it features abundant tips and tender leaves. The brewed tea is pure and rich in aroma, with a thick, creamy texture reminiscent of rice soup. It has no earthy or off-putting flavors, and even after more than ten infusions, it remains sweet, mellow, and full of character.
【Processing Method】
Freshly picked tea leaves are first made into raw MaoCha, then fermented using the traditional wo dui (wet-piling) process. The leaves are turned 5 to 8 times to ensure even fermentation, a process that takes about 45–60 days. The tea is then dried, machine-sorted by grade, and stored in a clean, dry environment to allow it to age gracefully, developing deeper flavors over time.
【Dry Leaf & Liquor】
The dry leaves are reddish-brown in color. The tea liquor is clear and bright, offering a smooth and mellow taste. Aromas feature aged notes with woody undertones and a long-lasting sweet finish.
【Health Benefits】
Ripe Pu-erh tea is warming in nature. It may aid in digestion, support weight and cholesterol management, warm the stomach, and help reduce the risk of blood clots.
【Suitable For】
This tea has a strong, full-bodied character and is best suited for experienced tea drinkers.
【Recommended Brewing Vessels】
Ideal for brewing with a Gaiwan or Yixing clay teapot.
【Brewing Instructions】
Water Temperature: 100°C (212°F), boiling water
Tea-to-Water Ratio: 1:20–25 (e.g., 5g of tea for 100–125ml of water)
Infusions: Typically 8 to 9 infusions
Steeping Times:
1st rinse: Rinse the leaves for 20 seconds and discard
2nd to 4th infusion: Steep for 5 seconds
5th infusion onward: Steep for 10–15 seconds, adjusting to taste
When the flavor fades, you may simmer the leaves: Use 6g of tea in 400–500ml of water and simmer for 15–20 minutes (tea-to-water ratio about 1:60–70)
