Radix Angelica Sinensis, the dried root of Angelica sinensis (Danggui), is a herb used in Chinese medicine to enrich blood, promote blood circulation and modulate the immune system. It is also used to treat chronic constipation of the elderly and debilitated as well as menstrual disorders. Research has demonstrated that Danggui and its active ingredients, as anti-arthrosclerotic, anti-hypertensive, antioxidant anti-inflammatory agents which would limit platelet aggregation, are effective in reducing the size of cerebral infarction and improving neurological deficit scores.
The taste is sweet; pungent, bitter; and it is warm in nature. It enters the Liver, Heart, and Spleen meridians.
Indications: Replenishing blood and promoting blood circulation, regulating menstruation and relieving pain, moistening the intestines and laxative. It is used for blood deficiency and chlorosis, dizziness, palpitations, irregular menstruation, amenorrhea, dysmenorrhea, deficiency and cold abdominal pain, dry bowel constipation, arthralgia due to rheumatism, bruising, carbuncle sore.
Jiu Danggui Huoxue Tongmeno, used for amenorrhea, dysmenorrhea, rheumatism arthralgia, bruises. Angelica sinensis has the effect of replenishing blood, used for blood deficiency, chlorosis, lack of menstruation, dizziness, unfavorable meridian, and uterine bleeding. The tail of Angelica sinensis has the effect of promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis, and is used for blood stasis block, lack of menstruation, amenorrhea, abdominal pain during menstruation, injury from falling, stagnation of meridian circulation, carbuncle and sore.

- Achyranthes Angelica Honey Cream
50 grams of Achyranthes, 500 grams of Cistanche, 50 grams of Angelica, appropriate amount of honey.
Add water to soak the Achyranthes, Cistanche, Angelica in a proper amount, then heat and cook, take the decoction once every 20 minutes, add water and decoct for a total of 3 times, combine the decoctions, and then decoct it over a low fire to concentrate it into a thick paste. Stop the fire, add honey and bottle it for later use. Efficacy: warming and laxative.
- Angelica, Ginseng & Kidney Soup
1 pig kidney, 15 grams each of ginseng and angelica.
First, wash the ginseng and angelica, put it in a gauze bag, tie the bag tightly, put it in a casserole, add an appropriate amount of water, and soak for 2 hours.
Cut open the pig kidney, remove the white fascia and glands, clean it, soak it in salt water for 30 minutes to remove the urine smell. Put it in the casserole with the herbs and heat it to stew as a soup.

- Daylily Pork Soup
15 grams of angelica, 15 grams of day lily root, 150 grams of lean pork. The amount of salt, vegetable oil, and (optional) MSG.
