Golden Autumn High Mountain Aroma Tieguanyin (Iron Goddess of Mercy) is a premium oolong tea crafted from tender tea leaves grown in the high-altitude mountains of Anxi, Fujian, during the golden autumn season. This semi-fermented tea is celebrated for its distinct "rock rhyme" (yan yun) and complex bouquet, combining orchid fragrance, creamy sweetness, and a refreshing mountain breeze-like clarity.
Origin:Anxi, Fujian | Sort:Oolong Tea (Semi-Fermented) | Level:Premium Grade |
Season:Autumn 2023 | Caffeine:☆☆☆ | Storage:Store in airtight ceramic jars or vacuum-sealed bags in a cool, dry place away from light and odors. Refrigeration is recommended for long-term preservation. |
Follows the traditional Anxi Tieguanyin craftsmanship: 1. Fresh leaf picking (one bud with two leaves) at dawn 2. Sun withering to reduce moisture and activate enzymes 3. Repeated shaking (yao qing) to promote partial oxidation and release aroma 4. Kill-green (sha qing) to halt fermentation 5. Hand-rolling into tight, spiral-shaped pellets 6. Low-temperature (roasting) to enhance fragrance and mellow (mouthfeel)
The dry tea consists of tightly curled, sand-green pellets with a glossy, oily sheen and occasional golden edges. The aroma is rich and floral, with prominent notes of blooming orchids, honey, and a subtle roasted nutty undertone.
Brewed liquor is a bright, translucent golden-yellow with a soft amber hue, exhibiting a smooth, thick texture and a lingering orchid fragrance on the surface.
On the palate, it delivers a balanced blend of creamy sweetness and refreshing astringency, with upfront notes of ripe pear and osmanthus followed by a distinct "hui gan" (returning sweetness) that lingers in the throat. The texture is velvety and round, with a pronounced "mountain" (mountain charm) that reflects its high-altitude terroir. It withstands 6–8 infusions, each revealing deeper layers of honey and toast.
Rich in polyphenols and amino acids, this tea supports: - Improved metabolism and fat oxidation - Enhanced mental focus and stress relief - Gut health and digestive efficiency - Skin hydration and anti-aging effects - Cardiovascular health through lipid regulation
Ideal for oolong enthusiasts seeking the classic Anxi Tieguanyin profile, as well as those who appreciate the crisp, floral character of autumn-harvested teas. Perfect for afternoon tea sessions or pairing with light dim sum, pastries, or seafood dishes.
Chinese gaiwan, Yixing clay teapot (to enhance the tea's fragrance), or glass teapot for observing the liquor's clarity
Use 8–10g of tea for 150ml boiling water (95–100℃). Rinse the leaves quickly with hot water for 3–5 seconds before the first steep to remove dust and awaken the aroma.
6–8 infusions, with each subsequent steep increasing by 5–10 seconds.
First infusion: 10–15 seconds | Second–fourth infusions: 15–20 seconds | Later infusions: 20–25 seconds
