Started the weekend off early with a cheeky alfresco lunch at a nearby wine store. Clear pale lemon color. Clean medium intensity nose of yellow apple, pear, lemon, light oak and cream. Dry, medium body, medium alcohol and medium+ acidity. Medium intensity flavors of yellow apple, light oak and lemon on the palate leading to a crisp medium length finish. Very good. Very Burgundian in style and great value at $22 a bottle retail. Paired nicely with smoked salmon on rye with an Israeli couscous salad. TGIF!!

The vines face east and grow upon steep slopes of Kimmeridgian limestone, of which reach an incline that can only be accessed by hand. After harvest, the grapes are fermented with natural yeast. They are aged in 50% stainless steel and 50% used oak for 14 months and undergo full malolactic fermentation. Tasting Notes: Aromatically the wine has notes of crisp green apples and spicey lemon cake. On the palate, there is wet stone, salty seashell minerality, and an inherent spiciness, such as warm anise that lingers in the back palate.

This delicious white medium plus bodied wine has notes of mild lemons and tangerine, tropical fruits like kiwi and honeydew and fragrant white florals. Really nice white to drink on its own or to pair with cheese and crackers or chicken or pork roast.

Pale straw yellow. The interesting freshness of a summer beach - lime, green apples, then the roundness of honeydew. Light body, medium acidity, astringent. Citrus in the palate to a medium finish with a tiny hint of minerality. It paired ok with tagliatelle with shrimps and asparagus, and lobster with butter and lemon, for Margaret’s birthday celebration with the Williams. Overall a good wine but it lacks the minerality of an Etna Bianco and it’s too expensive for what you get.

Quite impressive Chardonnay, that starts with a little fizz, and with all the chalk from behind, it makes you think of champagne. Chalky, mineral, with lots of stone fruits, iodine, mild tangerines & grapefruit zest, some flowers and pastry notes. Fermentation and ageing in concrete tanks, no sulfur added. Vertical wine, with racy acidity and weight in the palate. Amazing value.
