  • Tenuta San Guido Sassicaia 2017

    Tenuta San Guido Sassicaia 2017

Winemaker Notes This wine is chiseled and sharp with blackberry, ripe cherry, grilled herb and barbecue spice. The aromas flow from the glass in a continuous stream and are all marked by radiant intensity. The mouthfeel is long and powerful. The crisp linearity of the wine's tannic backbone is perfectly measured to the volume and depth of the fruit flavors. Blend: 85 % Cabernet Sauvignon 15 % Cabernet Franc Pair with rich flavors like braised meats, osso bucco and aged, hard cheeses. Critical Acclaim Wine Enthusiast Aromas of exotic spice, baked plum and French oak mingle with camphor and blue flower on the nose. This boasts extraordinary elegance and freshness despite the hot vintage, delivering flavors of juicy Marasca cherry, spiced blueberry, tobacco and licorice. Velvety, fine-grained tannins provide support while coffee and crushed mint linger on the finish. Drink 2022–2032. Decanter The 2017 vintage for Sassicaia was described by winemaking consultant Graziana Grassini as 'contracted and difficult, but it evolved impressively well with great strides during the oak ageing'. The wine shows a great intensity and elegance on the super-restrained nose of bramble fruit, layered with cedar, kiwi peel and a touch of oak. Surprisingly velvety, silky tannins and brilliant acidity are supported by creamy mid-palate weight with an amazingly savoury finish of cedar and tobacco.

  • Domaine Armand Rousseau Charmes Chambertin Grand Cru 2018

Domaine Armand Rousseau Charmes Chambertin Grand Cru 2018

Winemaker Notes Beautifully aromatic. Pure, fresh, and bright cherry, plum, and red berry fruit aromas with a hint of herb and spice. On the palate, the flavors mirror the aromas, with vibrant cherry fruit and silky tannins. It is a very supple wine with a lot of finesse and elegance. Critical Acclaim A very ripe yet still quite fresh nose is comprised by notes of plum liqueur, newly turned earth, violet and a whiff of the sauvage, all of which is trimmed in just enough wood to mention. The exceptionally rich and enveloping medium weight flavors possess very fine concentration while displaying impressive power on the mildly rustic finale. This is notably more robust and structured than usual.Range: 91-94 Robert Parker's Wine Advocate The 2018 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru is showing very well from bottle, unwinding in the glass with aromas of blackberries and cassis mingled with notions of licorice, warm spices, cedar and hints of peony. Full-bodied, fleshy and enveloping, with an unusually rich core of fruit but true to the domaine's suave style, it's velvety and seamless, with succulent balancing acids and ripe, powdery tannins. With time, the puppy fat will recede and the wine will take on more classical proportions.Rating: 93(+)

  • Chateau Lefleur Pomerol 2003

    Chateau Lefleur Pomerol 2003

The perfect kind of Bordeaux. The vintage 03' is put on display here for its warm, fruit-driven, extracted beauty. The aroma lunges at you with the elegance of a ballerina; plums, licorice, cacao, violets with hints of aged oak and humidor. The palate is a subtle beast, it lures you in with its silky allure and cages your palate in an wealth of full-bodied intensity; blackcurrants, cassis, plums and damp earth leading into cedar, pencil shavings and licorice all while the tannins are mellow and gentle. --NickBeNimble 97 Wine Spectator“This is a really long wine. It lasts for minutes on the palate. Full and dense yet refined and linear. Very racy, with plum, berry and floral character. Fantastic. No jam here. This is a wine that shows strength but maintains elegance. Superb.” (3/2006)

  • Chateau Haut Bailly Pessac Leognan 2012

Chateau Haut Bailly Pessac Leognan 2012

Deep ruby red colour. Medium nose with dark plums, blackcurrant, tobacco, leather, black pepper and cedar. Medium taste of dark plum, blackcurrant, leather, tobacco, black pepper and meat. Long and dry finish. High acidity. High and edgy tannins. Medium body. A very good Pessac-Leognan that is still a bit rough and could benefit from some more years in the cellar. Goes well with beef and lamb. --William

  • De Ladoucette - Pouilly-Fume 2020

    De Ladoucette - Pouilly-Fume 2020

Winemaker Notes The delicate and complex olfactory expression opens on aromas which remind of white flower, exotic fruits. There is a very beautiful complexity for a vintage where the end-of-season’s sun brought a lot to the aromas. Excellent complexity that translates into great and elegant richness. Nice attack, straight and bright, it takes place with elegance on fruity notes associated with a dense structure and a beautiful acidity which brings a great length in the end of the mouth. There are aromas of exotic fruits (litchi, mango). Tasting Notes The delicate and complex olfactory expression opens on aromas which remind of white flower, exotic fruits. • Delas 'La Galopine' Condrieu Rhone 2019

Delas 'La Galopine' Condrieu Rhone 2019

Winemaker Notes The color is a straw yellow, with green tinges. This Condrieu has layers of amazingly powerful and complex aromas: violets, apricots, peaches, honey and dried fruit. On the palate, these exuberant flavors are rich, powerful, and highly seductive, with an unctuous texture and a mass of exotic fruit on the finish. James Suckling Here’s a wine for those who often find Condrieu too soft and/or rich. I love the ripe-peach and pineapple aromas and the restrained richness (in the context of this appellation that tends to opulence), a hint of grapefruit pith-like bitterness accentuating the impression of freshness. Drink now.

  • Chateau de Pez Saint-Estephe 2019

    Chateau de Pez Saint-Estephe 2019

whow, opened too early, great left banker, soft and mellow, at the same time bold and rich. Classic Bordeaux blend flavors, medium intensity nose blackberry, blackcurrant & plum, delicately earthy, sweet tobacco and dried herbs, mouth follows nose, just maybe hint of dried plum, med+ acidity, med+ tannins and round plushy & smooth fruity medium length finish. Wine is developing, best wait few years and enjoy some more pronounced tertiary notes. Paired perfectly with reindeer steak 🥩, which was soft & tender. --Seba Stian

  • Reserve de la Comtesse of Pichon Longueville de Comtesse Lalande 2016

Reserve de la Comtesse of Pichon Longueville de Comtesse Lalande 2016

Wine Spectator A touch old-school, featuring savory, tobacco and rosemary accents amid a core of concentrated black cherry, red currant and plum paste flavors. Slightly austere, with chalky minerality harnessing the finish. A savory edge peeks in at the last second. For fans of the style. Best from 2022 through 2035. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate The 2016 Reserve de la Comtesse is a blend of 54% Cabernet Sauvignon, 37% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot and 4% Cabernet Franc. Deep garnet-purple colored, it leaps from the glass with beautiful kirsch, cassis and redcurrants with hints of red roses, black tea, black pepper, chocolate box and cloves. The palate is medium-bodied, very elegant and fresh with gorgeous silken tannins and loads of bright fruit, finishing spicy.

  • Chateau d'Armailhac Pauillac 2018

    Chateau d'Armailhac Pauillac 2018

Winemaker Notes Blend: 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc, 5% Petit Verdot Critical Acclaim James Suckling Complex aromas of blackcurrant, black olive, clove, oyster shell, pencil lead and tobacco. It’s full-bodied with firm, tightly knit tannins. Concentrated and focused with a very long, spice and mineral finish. Fantastic bottle. Try from 2026. Decanter Armailhac has held its success from en primeur and has further gained in weight during ageing. This is a wine that is changing a little in style, deepening in profile and upping the new oak for ageing from 30% to 50% (and staying in barrel for a little longer). Unusually high alcohols for this corner of Pauillac, likely from the concentration that happened in September on the Armailhac gravels (there is less clay in the soil at this spot). It comes through in a rich mouthfeel, chewy tannins and chocolate-covered damson fruits. 5% Petit Verdot completes the blend. Bottled mid-May. New winery under way. Drinking Window 2026 - 2044
