  • Keller Riesling Von der Fels 2021

Keller Riesling Von der Fels 2021

    Out of stock

It would be no exaggeration to say Weingut Keller consistently produce the finest dry Rieslings in the world, a fact proven year after year since Klaus-Peter Keller took over the reins from his father in 2001. Along with his wife Julia, Klaus-Peter has continued to prioritise the quality of dry wine produced at the estate, and these are now some of the most sought after and collected wines on the planet. While 85% of the estate consists of Grosse Lage (Grand Cru) sites, only a tiny proportion is labelled as such meaning there are great values to be had with their entry Trocken Riesling, along with the 'baby GG' Von der Fels. Other Reviews....Lovely nose of ripe apricot and summer meadows. What a beautiful balance of vibrant acidity and ripe fruit with the chalkiness adding another element to this interplay and filling out the generous palate. Super-bright and refreshing finish. A cuvee of wines from various GG sites with Kirchspiel playing the largest part. Drink or hold.93 pointsStuart Pigott - jamessuckling.com The dry counterpart to Limestone Kabinett, from different parts of the same vineyards. Low yields, 40 hl/ha (20% lost due to mildew in June plus green harvest). Bottled mid May 2022.Green fruits and deep citrus but with a mineral character that is more oily than stony. Richer and more spicy than in some vintages. There’s power in this wine that would probably be a Grosses Gewächs in the portfolio of most other producers. Then after that powerful first impression, it pulls in tight and fresh on the finish. A lot of impact initially. Then great freshness on the finish.17/20 pointsJulia Harding MW - jancisrobinson.com

Kistler "Les Noisetiers" Chardonnay Sonoma 2019

    Out of stock

100% Chardonnay  Kistler is a true standard bearer of quality in California. Blossom and white flowers on the nose and loads of dense but well balanced fruit - peach, apricots, pineapple and pear - on the palate. A fine and complex smorgasbord of fruit. 30 year old vines. Les Noisetiers is a combination of specific lots from within Kistler’s vineyards of designated quality that are situated in far western Sonoma County, near the coast. They began creating Les Noisetiers upon noting that there was an inherent mineral tone which they loved in the lots from their vineyards planted in these coastal sandy Gold Ridge soils. Hand harvested in September. Native yeast fermentation in French oak barrels. Aged on its lees in the same French oak barrels for 11-18 months in their subterranean, gravel floor barrel rooms. Bottled unfiltered and unfined. 422 barrels produced. Pair with: rich poultry, pork and pasta dishes.

  • Kistler Sonoma Mountain Chardonnay 2020

    Kistler Sonoma Mountain Chardonnay 2020

The Kistler plantings on Sonoma Mountain, situated on a hillside bench perfectly suited for growing world class Chardonnay, are interlaced with the rare combination of red volcanic and fine grained chalky soils. The vineyards are planted to California Heritage clones that were selected specifically over the last 30 years to ripen to our balanced wine standards. They are some of the oldest Chardonnay vineyards in Sonoma County. When coupled with the selections in the vineyard the textbook growing conditions afford a wine that is decidedly Sonoma Mountain in character. Annually some of our earliest vineyard pickings each year, this is a wine driven by a grounded, focused mineral core yet lifted by striking ethereal tones of vibrant light fruit raised at elevation. Winery Notes

  • La Sirena Chardonnay Russian River Valley Sonoma County 2020

La Sirena Chardonnay Russian River Valley Sonoma County 2020

“Sourced from the original 1969 planting of the Rued clone of Chardonnay, which is known for its somewhat tropical aromatics - some even refer to it as the Muscat clone of Chardonnay. Brilliant light golden straw in color with beautiful fruit aromas reminiscent of asian pear, green apple, pineapple, and citrus zest, with complementary notes of honey and crème brulee. A touch of toasty French oak enhances the aromatics and fruit flavors across the palate. The mouthfeel, texture and flavor profile is just delicious, with nicely balanced acidity and richness. Reminiscent of a white Burgundy or Chablis with its fresh and refined style.” - Heidi Peterson Barrett

  • Laura Aschero Vermentino Pigato Riviera Ligure di Ponente 2020

Laura Aschero Vermentino Pigato Riviera Ligure di Ponente 2020

    Out of stock

Vermentino is a Ligurian wine that received recognition as D.O.C. (Controlled Denomination of Origin) on 31 March 1988. The variety originated in the Middle East, was introduced in Spain and transplanted to Corsica in the XIV century. From there it spread first to Sardinia, then to Tuscany and throughout Ligurian arc. In the temperate coastal climate it found the ideal environment for cultivation, since the variety does not thrive in cold climes. A small family-run company that produces less than 6,000 cases of fine wine from Liguria annually, including Vermentino, Pigato and Rossese, the estate of Laura Aschero began its winemaking activities as a hobby in 1980, planting vines to the family-owned land that had formerly been used for other types of crops. Laura Aschero started the winery upon the advice of a friend who claimed that she had the perfect land for growing grapes. Since her passing in 2009, her son has continued her successful venture with great passion and dedication. The winery is based in Pontedassio, in the hills above Imperia, and its vines are situated at approximately 150 meters above sea level on year-round sun-kissed hills, enjoying the ideal temperature and terrain for cultivating vines and maturing grapes. The wine cellar, situated in an ancient palace under the Piazza del Paese, has been completely renovated and today has modern and efficient wine-producing facilities.

  • Le Petit Cheval" Chateau Cheval Blanc 2019

Le Petit Cheval" Chateau Cheval Blanc 2019

Winemaker Notes:  Chateau Cheval Blanc is one of the greatest and most famous wine estates in the world. The winery is located in the right bank of Bordeaux, in Saint-Emilion, which is known for its rolling hills, ancient vineyards, and exceptional wine production. The winery is committed to producing high-quality wines that reflect the unique terroir of the region. They use traditional winemaking techniques, such as fermenting the grapes in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, to produce wines that are both expressive and balanced.CRITICAL ACCLAIMDecanter - "Love this wine, and it has taken a leap in depth and character since the addition of Sémillion as of the 2018 vintage. Fleshy citrus comes through in the rich texture and a contrasting scrape of fresh acidities pulls everything in. Gooseberry and lime zest flavours pick up the pace with a bright Sauvignon Blanc character, all balanced out by the steadying hand of Sémillon. A clean finish, this is an excellent vintage of this wine."
