This is a gorgeous Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley. Elegant and fruit forward. Rich and extracted. Full bodied with medium acidity and spicy. Long finish with fine grained tannins and cherries. A great wine to have all by itself. 15.1% alcohol by volume. 95 points--Odedi  93 Points - The Wine Advocate The 2009 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon is a muscular, yet refined wine. On the nose it offers concentrated dark fruit and mineral notes. The palate yields dark fruit characteristics such as black cherry and cassis. The tannins are fine and well-integrated. Good structure, lovely acidity, freshness and vibrancy.

Striking aromatics of violets, forest floor, loamy soil nuances, blueberry, black raspberry and blackberry soar from the glass of this spectacular 2014. The acidity seems reasonable but on the lower side, the texture is magnificent, and the overall purity and equilibrium flawless. This is a wine pushing, even demanding, a three-digit score once again, but I’m holding back – at least for now. This magnificent effort from Colgin should drink beautifully for 25-30 years.Rating: 98+ James Suckling Gorgeous aromas of lean pencil, blackcurrants and raspberries. So perfumed and glorious. Full-bodied, chewy and intense with great length and intensity. Silky and muscular yet agile and energetic. Needs three to four years to resolve some of the tannins. Better in 2020.

Dense, layered, and with a suave personality, it will continue to blossom for another 5-6 years and should see its 20th birthday in fine form. Wine & Spirits The violet and tobacco leaf scents mark thsi clearly as a Walla Walla Valley cabernet. With air, a pretty herbal note, like sarsaparilla, starts to emerge. For all of these savory elements the wine is remarkably generous and fruit-driven, packed with flavors of cherry and fresh fig. Winemaker Notes Both the Cabernet franc and Merlot were the first to be planted on this parcel of land in 2004. The aromatics boast ripe dark blackberry fruit with tobacco and leather components with hints of crushed rocks. The entry of the wine leads off with Merlot and then the depth and density of the Cabernet franc is apparent as the two harmoniously co-exist. The finish is sublime with nice chewy tannins with a long lingering savory note. This wine is a classic Mekerra with an abundance of minerality.  Blend: 55% Merlot, 45% Cabernet Franc Critical Acclaim James Suckling A beautiful, layered red with plenty of dark-berry, chocolate and hazelnut character. Full-bodied and round. Juicy finish. A blend of cabernet franc and merlot.

The vineyards are split between the steep inclines guarding the slopes above the town of Ampuis and the flat plateau, which has been planted since the 1960s. Critical Acclaim Jeb Dunnuck Closer in style to the 2018 than the 2017, the 2019 Cote Rotie is a big, rich, powerful Côte Rôtie that has loads of meaty, gamey black fruits, smoked herb, pepper, and chocolate-like aromas and flavors. With full-bodied richness, a round, layered texture, terrific tannins, and a great finish, it's a powerhouse yet traditional Côte Rôtie that will need 4-5 years to shed its baby fat yet evolve for 20+ years.Barrel Sample: 93-95 Decanter Very ripe, dark plum aromas with a touch of currant and cinnamon. It is dense and deep, with marked acidity for the vintage. A good sense of freshness, with some floral hints behind the ripe fruit. Not extracted, no heaviness – it's medium-bodied, but with impressive impact and detail. The wood is noticeable at this early stage, but it's well-judged and I think it will meld nicely into the wine with time. There’s precision, freshness and lightness of touch even though the fruit is very ripe. Impressive.

This multi-vintage experiment comes from 3 separate vineyards, and sees 17 months aging in barrel. A red-fruited, oak spiced, supple dry red that is fresh, yet suited to age. About the Wine According to Decanter, Gevrey-Chambertin has “enjoyed a preeminent place in the world of fine wine for several hundred years. These wines can be considered as holding the first rank among those of the Côte d’Or” Gevrey-Chambertin’s wines had a special place in Napoleon Bonaparte’s heart, who “was reputed to drink a bottle of Chambertin every day.” They also have a very special place in our hearts. Domaine Harmand is a small family-owned winery that dates to the 19th century. The estate covers about 22 acres of vineyards located in some of the greatest terroirs of Gevrey-Chambertin in the Côte-d'Or appellation. The vineyard is planted with old vines of 50 years on average, but some of them can reach over 85 years. Since its inception, Domaine Harmand has followed traditional winemaking, where the wines shine thanks to their classic and extraordinary taste. The vineyard is managed with sustainable practices and careful and respectful viticulture. 2019 Vieilles Vignes is a selection of fifty-year-old vines located in Champeaux. The result is a complex, elegant Pinot Noirwith spicy notes and fine tannins. Suited for long aging. 2019 was an incredible year for Burgundy, this is a vintage to stock up on, a vintage to collect, and a vintage to enjoy. It was awarded a 98-point review and called a "hedonistic" vintage, and stated to be "perhaps rival 1865, the greatest vintage of all."
