  • Blue Roack Vineyard Baby Blue Red 2020

Blue Roack Vineyard Baby Blue Red 2020

WINEMAKER'S NOTES: Baby Blue is always built for pleasure right out of the gate and this beautifully aromatic rendition is no exception. Loads of rich red and black fruits, plus a delightful hint of blueberry, all get the party started. This is followed up by a nice compliment of baking spices, vanilla, a kiss of gentle herbs, and just the right amount of beautiful French oak and earthy goodness to round things out on the finish. Wonderful length and supple tannins make for easy enjoyment of this joyous red. Perhaps the most versatile of Blue Rock's wines, you can pair this Baby Blue with just about any meal you care to match with a nice red. Of course grilled meats always come to mind, but poultry in rich sauces or exotic global cuisine such as Indian, Thai or Vietnamese will work equally well.

  • Freemark Abbey Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

    Freemark Abbey Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

Winemaker Notes Dark ruby in color, the flavors such as blackberry, boysenberry and Bing cherry dominate with nuances of milk chocolate, chocolate berry truffle dusted with cocoa powder, aromatic cedar and Herbs de Provence. The sweet oak spice is very well integrated, adding to the overall complexity. The body is very full, with a soft entry, coupled with dark cherry flavors that develop from start to finish. With great texture, integrated tannins, and pleasant mouth feel, this cabernet is full bodied, rich and opulent. In one word.... delicious. Blend: 75.8% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16.2% Merlot, 4.0% Malbec, 3% Petit Verdot, 1% Cabernet Franc Critical Acclaim JS94 James Suckling Aromas of blackcurrants, spearmint, licorice and lead pencil follow through to a medium body with firm tannins and a fresh finish. Hints of chocolate and almonds. Really polished. Very drinkable now, but will age beautifully. JD91 Jeb Dunnuck There are roughly 25,000 cases of the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley, which is sourced from all over the valley. Certainly a beautiful wine worth seeking out (and it should be easy to find), it has ample ripe cherry and cassis fruits as well as spicy oak and tobacco nuances. This impeccably made, medium-bodied, elegant Cabernet will shine for a decade. Best After 2021

  • Justin Cabernet Sauvignon Paso Robles 2019

Justin Cabernet Sauvignon Paso Robles 2019

The nose is ripe blackberry, baked strawberry, black cherry, oak, vanilla, earth. The flavor is big blackberry, baked strawberry a tad, pepper, tannins, oak, limestone, bitter chocolate a tad. Center dense dark ruby color. Full body. Some tannin. Deep, rich fruit that leans less toward stewed fruit than my last try at this wine. Outstanding! My rating may have been slightly skewed by pairing this wine with marvelous churrascaria, brazilian style grilled meats at Chima, Charlotte. --Steve B

  • Gemstone Vineyard Alluvial Selection Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 2019

Gemstone Vineyard Alluvial Selection Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 2019

Jeb Dunnuck The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Alluvial Selection comes from more cobbly, rocky soils closer to the Silverado Trail, and it's a bigger, richer wine, offering lots of iron, mineral, black herbs, leather, and assorted red and black fruits. This full-bodied, concentrated, balanced 2019 will keep for upwards of 20 years.

  • Adelaida Viking Vineyard Cabernest Sauvignon Signature Series Paso Robles 2018

Adelaida Viking Vineyard Cabernest Sauvignon Signature Series Paso Robles 2018

97 points This suave, polished wine starts off with aromas of black and red fruits, seasoned with black pepper, graphite, black olive, oregano and bay leaf. The acid-driven palate combines savory tones of soy, mushroom, coffee bean and dark chocolate with lush black-currant and blueberry fruit. 93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate Aged 20 months in 70% new French oak, the deep ruby-purple colored 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Signature Viking Vineyard has very pretty, delicate scents of blackcurrant fruit, graphite, cedar and dried violets with loads of underlying nuances. The palate is full-bodied with dense, spicy fruits, a very ripe frame and seamless freshness, finishing long and layered. Give it a bit more time in bottle.

  • Colgin "Jubilation" Red Napa Valley 2019

Colgin "Jubilation" Red Napa Valley 2019

Winery notes: Jubilation is our newest wine in the Colgin Cellars collection. Jubilation is our Cabernet Sauvignon-based wine created with a selection of barrels that display earlier drinking characteristics from our three hillside vineyards. As our vine age has matured and small additions have been made to our original holdings, we had the privilege of increasing our selectivity. Following the blending of our single-vineyard wines, we were fortunate to have a collection of barrels that conveyed the same elegance and complexity for which we are known, yet on a more supple, approachable frame. Jubilation is a wine ready to enjoy now, with the pedigree to age gracefully in the cellar, maintaining the Colgin Cellars’ hallmarks of perfume, freshness, and minerality. The inaugural bottling of Jubilation from the 2016 vintage was released in late 2020. Future vintages are destined for select members of the fine wine trade.

  • Adelaida HMR Vineyard Pinot Noir Paso Robles 2019

Adelaida HMR Vineyard Pinot Noir Paso Robles 2019

The old vines of HMR form a unique vineyard mix lacking a source attribution, they are a ‘massal selection’ aka the ‘HMR clone’ having evolved from a multiplicity of original vines. The HMR designation indicates that the wine is based on our best vineyard sites and the oldest vines.  Power with grace, structure with finesse. These dynamics are on full display with the contrasting yet complementing aromas of fruit (black cherry, black raspberry) and earth (wet stone and black truffle). A first sip delivers the perfect purity of fruit in the form of deliciously ripe, round, and supple textures. Tastes of mulberry fruit, Asian spice, and exotic tea are bound together with silken textures. This wine has it all, including structure and grip reclining on a cushioned pillow of charm and delight. The overall harmony in this fine wine embodies the axiom that flavor and character are site-specific and therefore ultimately expressed by, and derived from, the vineyard locale. This wine exhibits the best of both worlds, with savory and earthy old-world qualities and delightful yet often elusive varietal purity, found in world-class Pinot Noir. Drink now through 2028.

  • Arietta H Block Hudson Vineyard Red Napa Valley

Arietta H Block Hudson Vineyard Red Napa Valley

Crafted from Cabernet Franc vines planted on a volcanic outcropping in 1986, and adjacent Merlot planted in the same year in clay-loam, the “H Block” has always been regarded as Arietta’s signature wine, paying great respect to the wines we love from the Right Bank of Bordeaux.  The 2018 vintage is 56% Cabernet Franc and 44% Merlot, and would certainly stand with the best of the twenty-one previous vintages.  Effusively aromatic, the wine is packed with notes of red raspberry, nutmeg, cumin, licorice, and slow-toasted oak.  It is both energetic and rich, with the ripe fruit flavors flowing across the palate and pulling the complex spice notes with it.  Aged for twenty months in 100% new French oak barrels and bottled without fining or filtration, the wine is deep and delicious, with the structure and weight that will allow it to age for decades.

  • Arietta Merlot "Hudson Vineyard" Napa Valley 2018

Arietta Merlot "Hudson Vineyard" Napa Valley 2018

Produced entirely from fruit from the long-lived “I Block” on the Hudson ranch, the 2018 Arietta Merlot mirrors the character of the old vines that hold the fruit:  muscular, deep, and at the same time balanced. This variety thrives in these soils, and in the cooler climes of Carneros, where Hudson is located. Fermented with native yeasts, macerated on the skins for nearly 30 days at relatively low temperature, the wine is alive with notes of black cherry, boysenberry, flint, and clove.  Bottled unfiltered after aging in 50% new French oak, its tannins have a cocoa powder texture, and the intensity of the fruit lingers on the finish for nearly a minute.

  • St Supery Cabernet Sauvignon Rutherford Napa Valley 2018

St Supery Cabernet Sauvignon Rutherford Napa Valley 2018

Deep really dark ruby colour with a stunning nose of rich ripe blackberry, plum, dark cherry and a bit of tobacco. Flavours much the same but the oak aging is superb, plus a little toasted smoky taste. Ultra smooth with a touch of softness and really bold full body texture that’s close to perfect. Overall, beautifully balanced, not overly dry and a great mouth feel. I’ve had the previous year vintage recently, this one is better.
