  • Justin Cabernet Sauvignon Paso Robles 2019

Justin Cabernet Sauvignon Paso Robles 2019

The nose is ripe blackberry, baked strawberry, black cherry, oak, vanilla, earth. The flavor is big blackberry, baked strawberry a tad, pepper, tannins, oak, limestone, bitter chocolate a tad. Center dense dark ruby color. Full body. Some tannin. Deep, rich fruit that leans less toward stewed fruit than my last try at this wine. Outstanding! My rating may have been slightly skewed by pairing this wine with marvelous churrascaria, brazilian style grilled meats at Chima, Charlotte. --Steve B

  • Kaiken Disobedience by Francis Mallmann Mendoza 2019

Kaiken Disobedience by Francis Mallmann Mendoza 2019

This wine celebrates a collaboration of many years between well-known Argentinian chef Francis Mallmann and Kaiken estate. Known for his distinct style of open fire cooking, ably captured in the first season of Netflix’s Chef’s Table, Mallman's unstoppable and unique nature is captured by the name 'Disobedience'. The grapes are sourced from Kaiken's vineyards in Altamira in the Uco Valley and Vistalba in the Luján de Cuyo region. Vistalba's chalk and sandy soil, at 1,200m altitude, imparts an elegant and fruit-driven character to the wine. The alluvial and loam soil of the Luján de Cuyo forces vines to penetrate deep into the soil, contributing deep fruit concentration and tannin.

  • Kanzler Pinot Noir Russian River Valley 2021

Kanzler Pinot Noir Russian River Valley 2021

Vineyard Notes: When it was planted in 1996, Kanzler was one of the first vineyards in the rolling hills southwest of the small picturesque town of Sebastopol in western Sonoma County. Only eight miles from the Pacific Ocean, the area was long thought to be too cool and foggy for grape growing.   FMW 96 Points: “This 2021 release is awesome!   The wine has a very supple mouthfeel and lush flavors of fresh blueberries and cherries with a hint of exotic spices.  A medium to full-bodied wine with fresh and bright flavors that are extremely well-balanced.  The tannins are fine-grained and silky and the finish is long and pleasant. This youngster will not disappoint!”

  • Kongsgaard Chardonnay 2018

    Kongsgaard Chardonnay 2018

This chardonay is both opulent and energetic, embracing all of Chardonnay’s splendor.  Peach and honey rise over the toasty brioche aromas, and the density of mineral flavors extend to the end of the wine’s exalted long finish.  The Wine Advocate noted that the “palate has electric intensity,” and described our “classically forged Chardonnays” as “consistently jaw-droppingly incredible.” 2,200 cases produced. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate A barrel sample, the 2018 Chardonnay bursts from the glass with bold notes of warm peaches, spiced pears and applesauce with hints of candied ginger, honeycomb and lime cordial. Medium to full-bodied, the palate has electric intensity, with a refreshing line of racy acid cutting through the tightly wound stone fruit and spicy layers, finishing long and honey laced.

  • L'Archange Saint-Emilion Rouge 2016

    L'Archange Saint-Emilion Rouge 2016

Tasting: Comments Pascal CHATONNET December 2018: L'Archange 2016 has an intense and deep colour. The first nose is characteristic of the expression of the great Merlot on clay soil with a simply perfect summer: blackberry liqueur, liquorice and black pepper rise together. The palate attacks with a powerful but extremely velvety tannin; it develops like a real liqueur, without heaviness but with a lot of freshness. The finish is powerful and very long. Vanilla and black fruit compote linger in the mouth on a particularly persistent spicy finish. A great wine, definitely made for laying down but already extremely fine; ARCHANGE 2016 is simply fantastic.
