Winemaker Notes: The 2015 vintage is blended from 50% Pinot Noir, 38% Chardonnay and 12% Pinot Meunier, sourced from Mailly and Verzenay as well as Trépail, Villers-Marmery, Ludes, Chigny-les-Roses and Rilly-la-Montagne. Palmer & Co refers to the vintage as “exceptional” because it combined high temperatures and little rainfall – spelling little disease pressure and even ripening. Sunny days and cool nights in August, they say, allowed for “perfect” ripening.
CRITICAL ACCLAIM
Wine Spectator - "A balanced Champagne, with a creamy mousse and flavors of cherry, poached pear, lemon pound cake and minerally chalk and smoke backed by soft orange peel acidity. Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. Drink now through 2027. Tasted twice, with consistent notes. 5,000 cases made, 425 cases imported."
