Winemaker Notes A vibrant, 100% organic/biodynamic Sauvignon Blanc from a mix of flint and chalk soils in the heart of Sancerre. Aromas suggest grapefruit zest and gunflint; in the mouth the wine is pure and fresh, with plenty of mineral energy and citrus flavors. Indispensable with fresh oysters or young goat cheese. The Vacheron family is one of the older and certainly most respected producers of organic wines in the Loire Valley.

100% Merlot that was hand picked and fermented half in barrel half in tank. Then aged for over a year in 100% new oak. This is a big wine the blue and black berry spectrum. Quite rich on the palate and offering some delicate violets and chocolate underneath. It’ll look more open after 2020. I think this is a classic for boeuf bourguignon. Clos 56 is a tiny 0.56 hectare of 60 year old vines in a prime part of Pomerol. The vines are part of a bigger St-Emilion Estate that focus on small patches of quality land run as organically as possible.

Wine Critic Reviews: This wine has a lovely complexity with balance and lift and does that thing where it waits for a heartbeat, then makes you wait for a heartbeat, before releasing its stone fruit and succulent, slate-tinged citrus.The plots are on the west side of the appellation, often 1.5oC lower than at main Lynch Bages, with more limestone in the subsoils helping keep the balance that is evident here.Two thirds of the juice was fermented in barrels with one third in stainless steel – it’s juicy and pretty much ready to go (it bottles in two weeks). 50% new oak used. 3.08pH. James Suckling: 96 Points Extremely perfumed with rose aromas that turn to strawberries and citrus. Some stones, too. Full-bodied, yet reserved and ultra-refined. It goes on for minutes. Power with finesse. Try in 2022 but already a joy to taste.
