This Brunello opens with inky, dark concentration and ripe aromas of prune, plum and blackberry. It's packed tight with savory spice such as ground clove and cardamom and it also offers a full load of ripe (but not jammy) black fruit. Two hour slow ox, followed by a one hour decant. Deep, dark, plummy magenta color. Gingerbread, Korean plum, wild strawberry, dreamsicle, and subtle white pepper on the nose. Very smooth, tongue drying palate. Soft tannins on the longish finish. Palate is great, but the finish is a bit lacking.

Earth, crushed rose petals, black cherries and raspberries, plums and wood spice. Excellent delineation and balance but a little lacking in concentration and depth. Still, a very elegant and pedigreed Vosne. This wine really transported me to the two times I took an early morning stroll on the narrow dirt road that separated La Grand Rue and Romanee Conti.
