It's the sort of Barolo that blossoms only with time in bottle. Spice, cedar, sweet pipe tobacco, dried cherry, macerated red cherry and anise start to open with a bit of coaxing. 94 points Jeb Dunnuck  The 2017 Barolo Bussia has an inviting bouquet of dried apricot, crushed roses, leather, and ripe raspberry. Fresh with cranberry, dried orange peel, and bitter herbs, the palate has driving acidity to match its angular tannins and warming backbone. There is a lot to love in the lineup of 2017s from the Einaudi estate, and the Bussia is no exception to finish out the flight. Full and polished with chewy tannins.  (5/2021) 94 points Vinous  The 2017 Barolo Bussia is complex and ethereal in the glass. A whole range of floral and spiced notes give the Bussia its striking aromatic presence. Silky and harmonious, the Bussia is already very easy to enjoy. Even so, my impression is that the 2017 is holding back some of its potential. I would give it a few years in bottle. The long, persistent finish is a thing of beauty. There is a lot of wine here. Classic left bank Bdx. Offering the classic impressions of cassis, graphite, vanilla, herbal tones. Very good. Med/med+ acidity and tannins. Entering its drink window, but still young at this point. Can age for another 10/15 yrs easily. -- Robinf Winemaker Notes Château Maucaillou shows an aromatic power particularly subtle and fruity; with very ripe and concentrated flavors. You can taste a full-bodied and generous wine, with finesse and elegance, with an impressive length and a very good aging capacity. Critical Acclaim James Suckling A firm wine with raspberry and cherry character and hints of lemon rind. Full to medium body, with slightly chewy tannins and an austere finish. Needs time to soften. Better in 2015.

Initially near terrible aromas of kidney and generally far from fresh tones. Really unpleasant start and takes some serious swirling to get rid off. After that some traditional volatile acidity appears and starts showing a fresher spectrum of aromas such as various red fruit and berries, sour cherry and earthy notes. Generally a darker style of Beujolais but still not having the complexity of the better Crus like Foillards Morgon etc. --Daniel L

Domaine Labruyère Moulin-a-Vent Coeur de Terroirs Vieilles Vignes is a selection of great terroirs of Domaine Labruyère, predominantly originated from granite soils rich in quartz. Made from 100% Gamay grapes which are all hand-picked, destemmed and passed over a double sorting table prior to fermentation. The wine is aged in oak barrels (3% new oak) for 13 months and bottled with slight filtration but no fining. Domaine Labruyère Moulin-a-Vent Coeur de Terroirs is a beautiful deep red colour with a nose rich with black fruits, liquorice, smoky and spicy notes. The palate is soft with notes of red fruits and a touch of black chocolate intermingled with very fine, spicy and refreshing tannins to finish.

Rated 94 by James Suckling This has really nice tension with dried lemons with hints of apples and white peaches. It’s long and flavorful. A beauty. 81% sauvignon blanc and 19% semillon. Rated 92 by Decanter White flowers and grape aromas. Elegance and finesse with brightness. Good density of lemon here, this isn't so acidic but delivers a really well balanced wine with fruit expression, power and structure. I like the texture, smooth and well defined. Driving with a touch of spicy oak at the end. Have with oysters. Drinking Window 2023 - 2030. Rated 91 by Wine Advocate Composed of 70.9% Sauvignon Blanc and 29.1% Semillon, the 2019 La Réserve de Malartic Blanc was harvested from the 4th of September to the 16th of September. It is aging on the lees in French oak barrels for an anticipated 10-12 months. The nose is a little muted to begin, opening out with some coaxing to reveal subtle scents of fresh lemon juice, green apples, lemongrass and Bosc pears with touches of wet pebbles and allspice. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is soft on the acidity with ripe, sensuous, approachable fruit and a pleasantly peppery finish.
