Prior to the founding, Yves worked Delas, and it was during this time he slowly began to acquire many parcels of land throughout the Northern Rhône. It was in 1992 that the first Domaine wine was bottled, and they have since gained a reputation for intensely expressive, and individualistic wines that far exceed the small scale winery which produces them. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp style=\"text-align: center;\"\u003eLa Barbarine is the domaine's more fruit driven Côte-Rôtie bottling, coming from the same vines as their flagship La Sereine Noire. The 2007 follows the tradititional co-fermentation of Syrah and Viognier, implementing a mere 5% Viognier. This small inclusion helps to set the color, and adds subtle white flowers and peach notes when the wine is young (not the case here). This near 20-year old bottling offers an appealing compromise of Syrah's natural generosity, and Côte-Rôtie's characteristic elegance.
