    Marcassin Chardonnay Marcassin Vineyard 2006

    Marcassin Chardonnay Marcassin Vineyard 2006

As for the 2006 Chardonnay Marcassin Estate, it is a more mineral-dominated wine displaying a liqueur of crushed rocks/wet stones, pears, and subtle smoky, honeysuckle, quince, and citrus oil notes. It also possesses exceptional length and richness as well as a full-bodied mouthfeel. Given the history of the vintage and the challenging conditions for Chardonnay, I would suspect these wines will evolve quickly by Marcassin's standards, meaning they are probably best drunk in their first decade of life. 96+points At once bold, rich and layered, with a measure of delicacy and finesse, unfolding to tiers of fig, melon, bubble gum, spice and honeysuckle. Finishes with a dash of cedary oak. Drink now through 2017.

    Melka CJ Cabernet Sauvignon 2016/18

Winemaker Notes Exhibiting a nose of dark cherry and blackcurrant, nuanced with notes of creosote, graphite, cloves and vanilla. This dense and full-bodied wine is layered from the start and finished with powerful coating tannins. This wine has an incredible oily texture and a multi-dimensional structure with amazing balance, power and sophistication - it is sure to age gracefully for years. Blend: 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Merlot, 7% Petit Verdot Critical Acclaim Jeb Dunnuck What could be thought of as the entry level wine of the estate and a blend of 87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Merlot, and the rest Petit Verdot, the ruby/purple-hued 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon CJ offers a charming, classic Napa bouquet of blackcurrants, red plums, spice, and earthy/flowery/forest floor aromas and graphite. Rich, full-bodied, balanced and classic, with good minerality, it’s far from a simple, entry-level wine and has real depth and character. There are 1,500 cases and it’s a smoking good effort that will keep for 10-15 years.

  • Melka La Mekerra Vineyard Red Knights Valley 2017

Melka La Mekerra Vineyard Red Knights Valley 2017

Winemaker Notes Both the Cabernet franc and Merlot were the first to be planted on this parcel of land in 2004. The aromatics boast ripe dark blackberry fruit with tobacco and leather components with hints of crushed rocks. The entry of the wine leads off with Merlot and then the depth and density of the Cabernet franc is apparent as the two harmoniously co-exist. The finish is sublime with nice chewy tannins with a long lingering savory note. This wine is a classic Mekerra with an abundance of minerality.  Blend: 55% Merlot, 45% Cabernet Franc Critical Acclaim James Suckling A beautiful, layered red with plenty of dark-berry, chocolate and hazelnut character. Full-bodied and round. Juicy finish. A blend of cabernet franc and merlot.

  • Merryvale Profile Red Napa Valley 2015

Merryvale Profile Red Napa Valley 2015

Merryvale's top-of-the-line Proprietary Red now available. Limited. 95+ Points Jeb Dunnuck: "A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, and Cabernet Franc aged 26 months in new oak, the flagship Merryvale 2015 Profile is brilliant, and has slightly more concentration and richness than the 2014. Blackcurrants, burning embers/scorched earth, licorice, and hints of violets all flow to a full-bodied, concentrated, backward, tight Cabernet that needs to be forgotten for 4-5 years. It's going to have two decades or more of longevity." 93 Points Robert Parker: "A blend of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Petit Verdot and 5% Cabernet Franc from the Profile Estate vineyard and aged 26 months in 80% new French oak, the 2015 Merryvale Cabernet Sauvignon Profile is deep garnet-purple in color and shows notes of baked plums, blackberry preserves and dried mulberries with touches of incense, iron ore, tobacco and new leather. The palate is medium to full-bodied and packed with loads of red and black fruit layers, framed by firm, grainy tannins and great freshness, finishing long and earthy. 1,800 cases produced."

  • Merus Cabernet Sauvignon 2011

    Merus Cabernet Sauvignon 2011

Winemaker Notes The deep red-purple color gives the hint of what follows in the nose and mouth. Aromas of black plums, black currants, sweet aromatic herbs, talcum powder, and tar combine to produce a bouquet that is so evocative of the Coombsville area in late fall. It enters the palate with a thick and sweet sensation, flows evenly to all corners of the mouth, and then tapers to a clean and polished finish. This is a classic beauty of a wine. Blend: 92% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Malbec, 2% Merlot, 2% Petit Verdot

  • Moone Tsai Howell Mountain Hillside Blend 2017

Moone Tsai Howell Mountain Hillside Blend 2017

Description After inspecting the wine’s deep ruby hues, one is quickly drawn to its alluring aromatics of bold mountain fruit, redolent with black cherry, plum and hints of earth and savory sage. The attack does not demur, expounding with notes of crushed blackberries, cassis, graphite, cedar and baking spices in an arcing narrative that announces the fabled story of Howell Mountain itself, from which the rich history and great traditions of Napa Valley winemaking originate. Aged 22 months in 42% new French Oak, the wine divulges a delicious dialectic of depth, density, and dimension; striking, and strident upon introduction; knowingly forthright with grainy tannins through the mid-palate, only to finish satisfyingly in wizened and soulful repose.
